About ALI

Vision: To draw together humble, gifted, missional, and anointed Anglican Leaders in North America for spiritual growth and refreshment, exposure to professional leadership coaching, and the ongoing work of relationally connecting orthodox Anglican leaders in North America.

1) Spiritual Growth and Refreshment

Christian ministry is a calling and a gift. Pastors are called to experience the love, joy, peace, grace and power of the Holy Spirit as they proclaim the gospel and "equip the saints for works of service" (Eph 4:12). Pastors need “extended interruptions” or time away from day-to-day routines to cultivate their hearts, minds, imaginations and re-new their energy. Entering the beauty of God's creation,  engaging in peer to peer interaction, receiving coaching and Biblical teaching, and spending time in prayer, solitude and worship provides the arena for pastors to be refreshed, gain clarity, receive encouragement, and be re-energized in their calling to serve God in the church and the world.

2) Life-Long Leadership Learning - Personal and Individual Leadership Coaching

Recent research has demonstrated two-thirds of leaders within the church do not sustain long-term leadership intitiatives, but rather shrink back to a position of maintenance or survival. A seventeen-year study produced similar statistics, expanding to include that:

  • 80% of pastors feel unqualified and discouraged in their role as a pastor.

  • 80% of seminary and Bible school graduates will leave the ministry within the first five years.

  • 50% of pastors would leave the ministry but have no other way to make a living.

Coaching has helped reverse these findings. Effective leadership coaching combined with training alone increased productivity 88 percent. The same study states that providing coaching to executives resulted in improvements to: quality, organizational strength, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment.

3) Humble Collaboration - Anglican Leadership Networking and Development

ALI seeks to create important space for you to be with other leaders representing different missional areas of North America. Participants are nominated and invited because their Bishop or Rector believe they desire to see the Anglican expression of following Christ lived out in way that keeps the Church missional in focus, charitable in action, and uncompromising in orthodoxy. Leaders ate invited to engage in this community, share their best practices, pray and worship as they are challenged in the midst of beauty, solitude and recreation.

4) Gospel Growth

The Lord has made it clear that the Anglican Expression of Church in North America needs to continue to expand through preaching the gospel, making disciples, building local congregations, church planting, and leadership development. ALI seeks to promote healthy gospel growth by offering high quality trips for bishops, rectors, high potential assistants/associates and gifted music/worship leaders. Also, we are running a research and development trip to see how we might organize a trip for key lay Leaders. ALI raises funds to offer these trips at prices affordable to clergy. The staff of these trips also are tasked for raising their own funds to make the trips possible.
